Future Plan.

In order to ensure sustainable development, it is essential to build impact resistant infrastructure under Objective-9. At the same time, it is important to ensure fair prices for agricultural produce through improved rural communication systems. To this end, the local government engineering department is developing infrastructure in Khulna district with a view to sustainable infrastructure and poverty alleviation. This includes development and maintenance of roads, bridges and culverts at village, union and upazila level. Other activities include construction of huts / growth centers and construction of rural hat-bazaars. Also construction / reconstruction and maintenance of Union Parishad Complex buildings and construction of Upazila Parishad Complex buildings, construction and repair of government primary school buildings, development of social infrastructure etc. The total number of roads in Khulna district under LGED is 6464 km. Of which 3462 km are unpaved roads and 2992 km are paved roads. The district has a total of 113 km of upazila roads, a total of 72 km of union roads, and a total of 3296 km of rural roads. There are 604 km of paved roads at upazila level, 434 km at union level and 1954 km at village level. Besides, a total of 15960 m bridges / culverts have been constructed in the district, out of 61 Union Parishad Complex buildings, 6 buildings have been constructed / reconstructed. LGED, Khulna has formulated the following plans for the implementation of Vision 2021, Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and Vision 2041 by implementing other infrastructure developments including road development and maintenance.
